trouble downloading

I have downloaded a few RAR Files but they wont play. They seem to automatily go to Yahoo internet explorer. I tried useing Windows media player but they don't work.
My pirate bay downloads don't work either so I think the problem is at my end

The last thing I downloaded was MEHOW_2

Any help Please

you extract them with winrar before you try to play them
