I've searched the net for months, and there is very little out there for overweight men except weight-loss programs. With obesity on the rise I would think there would be someone trying to cash in on this subject.

Before I found the seduction community I had completely given up on dating, and if truth be told, women in general. I've never been good with women, and I've never known anyone who was. So, I saw no reason to pursue a course of action that has always been painful. I'm a good cook, so food became my substitute for sex, and since I no longer cared what women thought of me there was no need to stay thin.

Fortunately I found the seduction community, because the way I was going I would have eventually started having health problems. Since I've been learning pick-up though I've been losing weight, and though I've lost almost 50 pounds I'm still a big guy (5'10" and currently 359lbs).

So for those of you who, like me, are larger then average (I'm talking 3X+ here) I've got a few tips (and the links they came from) on fashion which you may like. Much of it is redundant, but I include it all so you guys will know what is the most important by what is repeated most. I will add to this post as I find good stuff, and hope others will as well.

Just so you guys know, I'm in my mid-forties. Don't wait 'til you're thin to start dating, or at least practicing your skills. Odds are there are far more of us big-fatties on these boards than you all realize.

Dressing well for the large man.

Embrace tailoring. It's what fat guys are least likely to do, and also the thing they should do the most. These suggestions about finding clothes 'that fit you' are well-meant but not likely to be helpful. Fat guys are big in some places but not in others. Don't get yourself depressed searching for items of clothing that will fit you perfectly off the rack.

As far as tucking stuff in at the waist: it depends what 'waist' you're talking about. Most dress pants are meant to ride at the natural waist. On a thin man, it's sometimes hard to tell whether he's wearing them that way or not; on a fat man, it's obvious, and it can look a little strange or old-fashioned, but it does keep your shirt tucked in better. If you are fat, and you wear your pants at your hips, then your shirt is going to keep coming untucked.

Also: dark colors. And similar colors on both halves of your body, top and bottom, so that your length is emphasized and your curves are de-emphasized. Embrace vertical stripes; eschew horizontal stripes.

Get the basics right. Thin people often assume that fat people are sloppy, lazy, don't care about their own appearance, and in general don't have their shit together. Make yourself a moving target. Get a good haircut, shave well, match your shoes to your belt. Before you put on something unusual, or even some unusual combination of regular things, ask yourself: "Are people going to think I'm fully aware of what I look like in this, or are they going to think "Not only is that guy fat, but he probably doesn't realize how obnoxious that shirt is"?"

Err on the side of dressing up too much. It's always better for someone to look at you and think 'that guy is overdressed' than 'that guy is fat.' Besides, dressier clothes go better with fat. A suit is by definition the most streamlined thing a man can wear: the same color, the same fabric, a complementary cut: top and bottom. A jacket (tailored!) covers up the part of you that you would most like to cover up; not just your belly per se, but the point at which your belly hangs over your belt. To wit, pants held at the natural waist, mentioned above, look better under a jacket.

Fashions for Big Men

The good news is that you are not alone. Many men are carrying extra weight. These same men opt to dress baggy clothing thinking they can hide their beer bellies with loose t-shirts. Would you like to know the truth? Baggy clothing actually makes you look bigger than you probably are.

Color is the most important aspect in dressing to look slimmer than you actually are. Stripes are your worst enemy. Dark colors-black, chocolate brown, charcoal, navy blue, and dark gray-offer a more slimming look. Browns, blacks, grays, and navy blues happen to be this years "in" colors. You get to wear fashionable trends while also appearing slimmer. Make sure your suit jacket and shirt are similar in color. Contrasting hues draw attention to the point in which they meet. The point at which the colors meet will create a line that adds the appearance of bulk.

When purchasing a suit jacket (and every man needs at least one jacket), look for two-button suit jackets in dark colors. Once again, the dark colors are more slimming. In addition, a two-button suit creates a streamlined look that makes your waist and stomach look tapered and trim. Do not buy a jacket that is too loose. A loose appearance will add the appearance of weight. You also need to avoid purchasing clothing that fits too snugly. Clothing should fit comfortably with no more than an inch of space at any given point.

Though Hawaiian prints are in, large patterns give the appearance of bulk. Stick to small vertical patterns that make the torso appear longer and slimmer. Always rely on vertical patterns and never horizontal patterns. Stripes that are horizontal add a round look and can make you look a lot heavier than you are. The same applies with buttons and zippers choose small, narrow fasteners.

Shiny satins, rayons, and other fabrics add weight. Any fabric with a bright sheen will make you appear larger than you are. Stick to clothing that has a brushed appearance without any shine.

If you have a chubby, round face, do not purchase turtlenecks. Turtlenecks can make you look heavy in the neck area. Instead, choose shirts with angled v-necks or leave the top couple of buttons on a dress shirt undone so that there is an angle that slims the face and neck.

Sticking to these basic rules can turn a rotund man into someone looking svelte. Just remember vertical lines, dark colors, and similar shades, and you will look great!

Right Dressing Sense for Men (http://ezinearticles.com/?Right-Dressing-Sense-for-Men&id=364103)

Tips for overweight men:

The easiest way to fit in and look great when you’re overweight is to lose weight with the help of a exercise and diet. Not only will your clothes fall better, but it will boost your confidence, your motivation to dress and look better. Until you take the initiative to lose weight, here are some simple fashion tips that can help you look slimmer.

* Clothes must fit perfectly. Loose clothing makes you look even bigger while tight clothes give away curves that you don’t want exposed.
* Avoid any blazer or jacket with sloped shoulders because these tend to attract the eye down to your mid-section.
* Jackets should be well adjusted around your waist area and should fall right below your buttocks.
* Vertical lines help elongate your look optically. That, in turn will help you appear thinner.
* Avoid letting your belly stick out over your pants; this lengthens your torso and shortens your legs, resulting in a very unattractive combination.
* Consider wearing suspenders instead of a belt to minimize attention to your waistline.
* Empty unnecessary items from your pockets; overstuffed pockets also call attention to your mid section.
* “V” necks are a great way to camouflage double chin, as they draw attention away from your neck and more towards your chest area.

THE BULKY MAN

Overweight men can look thin
The easiest way to fit in and look great when you're overweight is to lose weight with the help of a proper exercise program and diet. Not only will your clothes fall better as a result, but it will also boost your confidence, as well as your motivation to dress and look better. Until you take the initiative to lose weight, here are some simple fashion tips that can help you look thinner and feel more confident.

Stay away from horizontal stripes
If there's a little more of you to love, particularly in the stomach area, avoid any kind of horizontal stripe. While you're at it, avoid diagonal stripes too. What you should wear with pride, however, are shirts and trousers with vertical stripes. Vertical stripes draw the eye downward, elongating your silhouette and visually slimming it. Pinstripe suits are the perfect dress-up clothes for you, especially paired with a crisp black dress shirt underneath. Pinstripe dress shirts will also look great when mixed with dark jeans or black trousers. For casual wear, try to find a pair of dark corduroys with slim stripes that are made from thin material.

Avoid double-vented jackets
The slits in the back of your jacket are referred to as ??vents.?? All jackets should cover your bottom. However, if you have a larger behind that makes you feel a bit self-conscious, stay away from blazers and jackets that are double-vented (the ones with two slits in the back) as this cut will draw attention to your posterior. To camouflage a wider rear, go with single-vented jackets or jackets without any vents. If you already own a double-vented jacket that you love, a professional tailor should be able to sew up the slits for you at a fairly minimal cost.

Go monochromatic
A shirt and trousers in two extremely contrasting colors -- like black and white -- will break you in half and make a large middle stand out. Choose tops and bottoms that are identical or similar in color to create a cleaner visual impression and to look 10 pounds slimmer instantly. And, of course, choose all black for the most slimming effect, but add some colored accessories to avoid looking like you have a funeral to attend.

Wear a belt
A belt will nip in your waistline and make it appear slimmer. Just be sure not to make it so tight that you have a belly overhang.

Lots of sensible advice here. I would also add that buying quality clothing helps and avoiding synthetics at all cost (they make you sweat worse). Finding a good tailor who can make the clothes to size and buying decent materials helps too.

Getting your weight down is a priority, it will do wonders for your self confidence. I'm 4 months separated and working on a much neglected body. Progress is somewhat slow, though I'm getting there. Plenty of exercise is very important to achieve your goal and avoiding all junk food helps too.

I too am a good cook, so I know I can produce home cooked food that will rival any expensive restaurant, it's true that the way into a woman's heart is through her stomach just as much as a man's, especially if you produce light and interesting food.

A well-fitting jacket/sportcoat/blazer can make all of the difference. It helps to square off your shoulders and frame nicely and hides the contours of your midsection. Plus, it can really pull together your look and make you look both classy and stylish to boot.
